GSTN Advisory No. 504: Integration of NIC-IRP E-Invoice-1 and E-Invoice-2 Portals
The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has issued Advisory No. 504 dated July 16, 2024, detailing the integration of services from NIC-IRP e-invoice-1 and e-invoice-2 portals. This integration is scheduled to roll out on sandbox portals starting July 18, 2024, and on production portals from August 1, 2024. These portals are designed to enhance the efficiency and interoperability of e-invoice operations under GST in India.
Key Highlights of the Integrated Portals:
- Dual Modes of Operation: Both NIC-IRP 1 & 2 offer web and API modes for seamless e-invoice-related services.
- Unified Login Credentials: Taxpayers can utilize the same login credentials across e-invoice-1 and e-invoice-2 portals for ease of access.
- API Interoperability: The integration allows the use of the same API token for e-invoices and e-waybills on both portals, ensuring consistency in operations.
- Operational Redundancy: In case of technical issues with one portal, taxpayers can switch to the other portal for uninterrupted services.
- Cross-Portal Operations: Functions such as printing, downloading, and cancelling e-invoices can be performed across both portals, enhancing flexibility for users.
- Contingency Usage: If e-invoice-1 experiences technical downtime, e-invoice-2 can serve as an alternative for all e-invoice-related activities.
- Sandbox Environment for Testing: Visit the sandbox portal (einv-apisandbox.nic.in) to access API URLs and conduct testing before transitioning to the production environment.
- Preparation Tips: Ensure thorough testing of all APIs in the sandbox environment to mitigate issues before deployment in the production environment.
- Multiple Portal Options: Apart from NIC-IRP, taxpayers can also utilize four other e-invoice portals (IRP-3, IRP-4, IRP-5, and IRP-6) for additional convenience.
The integration of NIC-IRP e-invoice-1 and e-invoice-2 portals marks a significant step towards simplifying and enhancing e-invoice compliance under GST. Taxpayers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new features and functionalities offered by these integrated portals to streamline their GST-related processes effectively.
