Govt notifies the GST Appellate Tribunal (Recruitment, Salary and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Group C Employees) Rules, 2024

The Ministry of Finance vide Notification (G.S.R 340(E)) dated June 21, 2024 notifies the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (Recruitment, Salary and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Group C Employees) Rules,2024.

1. The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (Recruitment, Salary and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Group C Employees) Rules, 2024 have been notified by the Ministry of Finance, regulating the recruitment and service conditions for Group C posts in the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT).
2. The rules outline the method of recruitment, age limit, qualifications, and other related matters for various posts, as specified in the Schedule-I annexed to the rules.
3. Appointments for Group C employees can be made through direct recruitment or on a deputation basis. For direct recruitment, applications are invited on an all-India basis and processed through a recognized professional agency. For deputation, applications are invited through wide advertisement, and selection is made based on the recommendation of a Selection Committee.
4. Employees appointed on a deputation basis who fulfill the qualifications and experience laid down in the rules are eligible for absorption in the respective grade, subject to certain conditions.
5. The conditions of service for Group C employees, including pay, allowances, leave, and other service matters, are regulated in accordance with the rules applicable to employees of the corresponding level in the pay matrix of the Central Government. Disciplinary proceedings are also subject to the rules applicable to Central Government employees.
