Finance Ministry Updates Excise Duty on Blended Aviation Turbine Fuel

The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, has issued Notification No. 27/2024-Central Excise on October 28, 2024, amending Notification No. 11/2017-Central Excise under Section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944. The government has set new excise duty rates for Blended Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) used by selected airlines and cargo operators under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS).

Key Amendments:

1. Excise Duty Rates for Blended ATF:

RCS Flights: ATF used by operators on UDAN flights (from RCS airports, heliports, or waterdromes) will be charged a 2% duty (Sl. No. 7C).

General Use: Blended ATF not used under RCS attracts an 11% duty (Sl. No. 7D).

These rates are effective October 29, 2024.
