As of August 11, 2024, India’s gross direct tax collections for FY 2024-25 have reached ₹8.13 lakh crore, showing a remarkable growth of 23.99% compared to the previous year. After accounting for refunds, the net collection stands at ₹6.93 lakh crore, reflecting a 22.48% increase.

Key contributors to this surge include Corporate Tax, Personal Income Tax, and Securities Transaction Tax. The total refunds issued amount to ₹1.20 lakh crore, a 33.49% increase from the same period last year. These figures highlight a significant and positive trend in direct tax collections across the country
