A magisterial court in Ahmedabad has ordered a 10-day custodial interrogation for four individuals, including senior journalist Mahesh Langa, in connection with an alleged GST input tax credit (ITC) fraud. The scam involves the creation of fake firms and fraudulent transactions to claim ITC, causing a significant financial loss to the country.

The crime branch of Ahmedabad registered an FIR against 13 companies, following a complaint from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI). The investigation uncovered that one of the key firms, Dhruvi Enterprise, had issued bogus invoices to multiple entities. Among those linked to the scam are Aryan Associates, which involves family members of BJP MLA Bhagwanbhai Barad.

The court, after reviewing the case diary and arguments, stated that the accused played a key role in the fraudulent scheme and granted the 10-day remand to further investigate the extent of the financial loss and the involvement of other suspects.
