CBDT Extends Due Date for Filing Audit Reports for AY 2024-25 to October 07, 2024

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), through Circular No. 10/2024 dated September 29, 2024, has extended the deadline for filing various audit reports for the Assessment Year 2024-25. The original due date of September 30, 2024, has been extended to October 07, 2024 for taxpayers covered under clause (a) of Explanation 2 to Section 139(1) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

Reason for Extension:

The extension comes in response to difficulties faced by taxpayers and stakeholders in electronically filing audit reports for the Previous Year 2023-24.
