Bajaj Healthcare Appeals ₹18.49 Crore GST Demand Over ITC Refund Dispute

Bajaj Healthcare Limited recently received a GST demand notice of ₹18.49 crore from the Joint Commissioner, Vadodara-II, regarding a dispute over Input Tax Credit (ITC) refunds. The dispute centers around Bajaj Healthcare’s application for an ITC refund on exports under Rule 89(4) of the CGST Rules, 2017, instead of Rules 89(4A)/(4B), which the order claims should have applied.

In a statement, Bajaj Healthcare clarified that even under the contested interpretation, the company would have been eligible for ₹17.41 crore as an ITC refund. Bajaj Healthcare intends to appeal the order, seeking resolution through the appellate authority.
