The Madhya Pradesh GST Department, through Order No. 03/2024 dated April 18, 2024, amends and supersedes the earlier Order No. 05/19 from November 2, 2019, concerning the delegation of powers and assignments of officers under the Madhya Pradesh Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (No. 19 of 2017) and its rules. This new order specifies the officers responsible for various sections of the Act and rules, as listed in a table in the order. The assignments consider the turnover of the relevant year for certain sections (7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 32) to determine turnover limits.

The order clarifies the inclusion of officers in higher designations under various roles, like Additional Commissioner of State Tax, Joint Commissioner of State Tax, Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, and State Tax Officer of State Tax, factoring in any government orders that assign or reassign their roles.

This order will take effect from May 1, 2024. Proceedings initiated before this date will follow the guidelines of the previous order (05/19 dated November 2, 2019) and will conclude under the officer who began them.
