Karnataka Govt Constitutes ‘Karnataka Authority for Advance Ruling’ Under Section 96 of the KGST Act

The Government of Karnataka has issued Notification No. FD 49 CSL 2024, dated October 14, 2024, under Section 96 of the Karnataka Goods and Services Tax (KGST) Act, 2017, constituting the Karnataka Authority for Advance Ruling. This authority will include two officials:
- Shri Kiran Reddy T. (IRS, C&CE, 2009 Batch), Additional Commissioner of Central Tax.
- Shri Prathap Kumar S., Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Audit), Bengaluru.
The authority will handle advance ruling requests related to the interpretation and applicability of GST laws in the state of Karnataka, providing clarity and reducing litigation.
