GSTN Restores Archived GST Return Data for July & August 2017 Temporarily

The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) issued Advisory No. 526 on September 29, 2024, temporarily restoring GST return data for July and August 2017, which had been archived earlier as part of the GST data archival policy.

Temporary Restoration:
Due to numerous requests from the trade community, the GSTN has restored this archived data for a limited time, allowing users to access it.
Action Required:
Users are strongly advised to download and save the return data as per their needs. The archival policy will be re-enforced after a prior notice, following which access to this data may no longer be available.
Background:
On September 24, 2024, GSTN had issued an advisory on its data archival policy, which mandates the archival of return data after seven years. This policy is implemented monthly, ensuring older data is systematically archived to optimize the platform’s functionality.
Make sure to download any essential return data before the archival policy resumes.
