On Friday, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal launched two digital initiatives aimed at resolving exporters’ issues, increasing transparency, and simplifying the export process.
Key Initiatives:
- Jansunwai Portal:
- Provides exporters with vital information, clarifications, and status updates on complaints.
- Offers a video-conferencing facility for exporters to directly interact with officials from various departments.
- Aims to eliminate the need for exporters to visit the commerce department.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Portal:
- Launched by the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC).
- Facilitates online services like form submission, claims, reimbursements, policy details, and grievance redressal.
- Supports exporters by providing credit insurance, reducing risk, and encouraging smoother transactions.
Support for MSMEs:
Goyal highlighted a new program introduced in July, offering 90% credit insurance cover to MSME exporters (excluding the gem and jewellery sector) with a credit limit of up to Rs 80 crore. This initiative allows exporters to access loans at lower interest rates, improving financial support for their operations.
$2 Trillion Export Target:
In line with the government’s goal to reach $2 trillion in exports by 2030, Goyal consulted with state governments and industry bodies on further streamlining systems and processes to promote exports.
These portals are part of the government’s efforts to digitize services and ensure smoother processes for Indian exporters.
