Andhra Pradesh GST Department Eases Eligibility for GSTAT Technical Member to 20 Years Group A Service

The Andhra Pradesh GST Department issued Notification vide G.O.Ms.No.157 dated May 14, 2024, has approved a relaxation in the eligibility criteria for the Technical Member (State) of GSTAT. The mandatory requirement of 25 years in Group A service is reduced to 20 years, provided the candidate has at least 25 years of total government service as a Gazetted Officer with three years in relevant finance or taxation roles. This relaxation is valid for 10 years.

As approved by the Department of Revenue, Government of India, this is to notify that a Technical member (State) for GSTAT Andhra Pradesh shall be an officer of the State Government or an officer of the All India Service not below the rank of Additional Commissioner of Value Added Tax or the State Goods and Services Tax or such rank, not lower than that of the First Appellate Authority, and has completed twenty years of service in Group A, or equivalent, subject to overall twenty five years of service in the government as Gazetted Officer with at least three years of experience in the administration of an existing law or the goods and services tax or in the field of finance and taxation in the State Government. This notification is valid for a period of 10 years only.
